Lens rental · Amsterdam

Lens rental Amsterdam — Canon RF & more.

Rent professional zoom and prime lenses: 28-70 f/2.8, 70-200 f/4, 35 macro, 85 f/1.8. Insured, flexible, with pickup in Diemen.

A lens changes your pictures more than a camera body does — and renting is the cheapest way to get exactly the look one shoot needs. Our shelf covers the four jobs photographers actually rent for: a bright standard zoom, a telephoto, a macro-capable prime and a portrait prime.

Every lens is inspected and cleaned after each rental, and we check it together at pickup. All rentals include insurance — if anything happens you pay only the deductible.

Rent a lens on its own (our glass is Canon RF and RF-compatible — check your mount) or pair it with one of our camera kits and collect everything in a single pickup in Diemen, 10 minutes from Amsterdam Central.

Which lens for which shoot?

For weddings and events the Canon RF 28-70mm f/2.8 covers about 80% of the day on its own — wide enough for the venue, tight enough for portraits, bright enough for the party. Add the RF 70-200mm f/4 for ceremony and reception work where you can't get close.

For portraits the Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 gives you the classic compressed look with creamy backgrounds. The RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro is the do-everything prime: street, food, detail shots and true close-up work with built-in stabilisation.

Shooting video? The 28-70mm f/2.8 and the 35mm f/1.8 are the two we'd grab first — constant aperture on the zoom, quiet focusing and stabilisation on the prime.

Renting a lens without a camera

Most of our lens rentals go to photographers who already own a Canon RF-mount body and need one specific piece of glass for one specific job. That's the point of renting: pay for the lens the shoot needs, not the lens you'd use twice a year.

Not sure about compatibility? Email us before you book — we answer within an hour, in English or Dutch.

How renting works at FotoRent

Choose your lens and reserve online via Gearbooker for a day, a weekend or a week. You get an instant confirmation with the pickup address in Diemen — about 10 minutes by train from Amsterdam Central, easy to reach by car.

At handover we inspect the lens together, front element to mount. Done shooting? Bring it back and we handle the rest — inspection, cleaning and maintenance, so the next photographer gets the same clean glass you did.

Lens rental in Amsterdam — FAQ

Can I rent a lens without a camera?
Yes. We rent lenses stand-alone. Just make sure the mount matches your body (we stock Canon RF and compatible).
How clean are your lenses?
We inspect and clean every lens after each rental. If you spot anything off at pickup, we swap it immediately.
Which lens is best for weddings?
The Canon RF 28-70 f/2.8 covers 80% of a wedding shoot. Pair it with the 70-200 f/4 for ceremony and reception telephoto work.
Which lens should I rent for portraits?
The Viltrox 85mm f/1.8 is the classic portrait choice; the RF 35mm f/1.8 works beautifully for environmental portraits and detail shots.
Is insurance included?
Yes — every rental includes insurance. If anything happens, you pay only the deductible.
Can I rent for just one day?
The minimum rental is two days. A Friday-to-Monday weekend counts as two rental days; weekly rates make longer shoots cheaper per day.
